These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Transcriber iOS application (“the app”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What the app does
Transcriber lets you share voice messages from other apps (such as WhatsApp) into the app and convert them to text using on-device speech recognition. Optional features may include translation, playback, and local history storage. The free version may display advertisements.
2. No affiliation
Transcriber is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp, Meta, Apple, or Google. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any third-party apps and services you use alongside Transcriber.
3. Advertising
The app may show ads served by Google AdMob, including interstitial ads and rewarded ads (for example, watching an ad to unlock certain optional features such as translation). Ads are provided by Google and may be personalized based on your App Tracking Transparency choice and applicable consent settings. Ad content is controlled by Google and its advertisers; we do not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of third-party ads.
By using the free version of the app, you acknowledge that advertising is part of how the app is monetized. Details about advertising-related data are described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your responsibilities
- You must only share audio you have the right to access and process.
- You must not use the app for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- You are responsible for reviewing transcripts and translations for accuracy before relying on them.
- You must comply with applicable laws, including privacy and recording laws in your jurisdiction.
- You must not interfere with ad serving, click ads fraudulently, or attempt to circumvent ad or unlock mechanics.
5. Accuracy disclaimer
Speech recognition and translation are automated and may contain errors. Transcripts and translations are provided “as is” for convenience. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
6. Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how on-device data and advertising (including Google AdMob) are handled.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its design, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and the Apple App Store terms.
8. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including advertising formats and which features require watching an ad. We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Transcriber and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the app, including damages related to third-party advertisements or ad networks.
10. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or restrict access if you violate these Terms or use the app in a way that could cause harm or legal exposure.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction of the app operator, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections apply in your country of residence.
